Welcome back to our online class! Today we will continue to work with the short story Underground.

Answer this questions:

4 How does Jonas feel about living there?

5 Why do youthink his memory is so bad?

6 Why do the unusual images disturb him at first?

Read the  story again and number the  events in order.

__ Jonas  felt rain water on  his  face.

__ Jonas  took  some   sleeping  pills.

__ A  man waved at him a second time.

__ Jonas  saw  something he had  never  seen  before.

__ Jonas  thought  about the  future.

__ Jonas  received a message  from  his  mother.

Do you know what an Utopia is?  The term was invented by Thomas More who wrote "Utopia" a story based on an ideal imaginary happy place where peace was possible. However other authors wrote about dystopic places or worlds.

The story we have just read "Underground" is an example of a dystopic place.
